Welcome! In this section I will use the knowledge I’ve learned throughout pharmacy school to help you stay healthy during your travels. In my second year in pharmacy school I had the opportunity to take a “Travel Medicine” class and guess what I learned? Everything I needed to know to stay healthy during my vacations. Before taking this course I never associated getting sick with exploring new cities, but boy was I wrong! As fate would have it I soon discovered this through first hand experiences while doing a road trip around Spain (it wasn’t pretty). Ever since, planning accordingly for accidents like these have always been part of my pre-travel routine. Before we continue, however, I’d like to post a disclaimer. I am only a student and this information should only serve as a guidance. I fully recommend and highly encourage you to visit your primary care provider to assess your personal needs. So, now that’s done. What will you find here?

  • Vaccine requirements for visiting specific countries.

  • List of medications that are prohibited in certain places.

  • Common conditions acquired while traveling and how to prevent and treat them.

  • Healthy measures to avoid getting sick.

  • Link to resources to help you learn more.
