Welcome! In this section I will use the knowledge I’ve learned throughout pharmacy school to help you stay healthy during your travels. In my second year in pharmacy school I had the opportunity to take a “Travel Medicine” class and guess what I learned? Everything I needed to know to stay healthy during my vacations. Before taking this course I never associated getting sick with exploring new cities, but boy was I wrong! As fate would have it I soon discovered this through first hand experiences while doing a road trip around Spain (it wasn’t pretty). Ever since, planning accordingly for accidents like these have always been part of my pre-travel routine. Before we continue, however, I’d like to post a disclaimer. I am not an expert on the topic and this information should only serve as a guidance. I fully recommend and highly encourage you to visit your primary care provider to assess your personal needs before taking any medications or traveling abroad. So, now that that’s done. What will you find here?
Vaccine requirements for visiting specific countries.
List of medications that are prohibited in certain places.
Common conditions acquired while traveling and how to prevent and treat them.
Healthy measures to avoid getting sick.
